... the 2008 event - Scrutineering
Stonehaven Carties Annual Race Event
Scare 2008 ~ Scrutineering
The purpose of Scrutineering is to check all carties for conformance with the Construction & Design rules and for general safety and reliability. Scrutinisers will be nominated by the organisers, and their decision is final.
Summary:
Carties must be conspicuously "home made".
Carties must be safe, soundly made and robust enough to compete up to 3 times.
Carties must not pose an unreasonable threat to the driver or any other team members, event officials or members of the public
Paperwork:
We'll also be completing all the paperwork such as indemnity forms for all team members at Scrutineering, Remember that each team will need to provide a marshal on the day of the Event and we'll need to know the name of your team's marshal at Scrutineering.
Don't worry to much about the Scrutineering - we're simply trying to ensure a safe event.
We'll highlight where we think something does not conform or is dangerous, and you'll have plenty of time to put it right.
If you want any advice before Scrutineering please do get in touch with the committee - we're happy to arrange to inspect your machine before hand or give guidance on anything specific at any time.
Follow the Rules and you will have no problems in the Scrutineering
The purpose of Scrutineering is to ensure that the event will be safe for all concerned
Note:
Only your cartie has to be there to be inspected. If you can't be there yourself then you can arrange for someone to deputise for you - but remember all the paperwork must be completed.
However Scrutineering is a good chance to meet your fellow competitors and size up the opposition. You will also be able to inspect the course and meet some of the organisers, so try to attend if you can.
Remember:
